September 7, 2004 My fellow Woodfolk, Many changes have occurred over the past few years. Joined with the druids, seperated from them, and so on. We're in the process of losing amulets and their hindrance, and we're getting a much needed recode. I would at this time like to extend my personal thanks to Epicar and Sabreur, the immortals responsible for these changes. It makes my heart lighten to finally see this guild getting the attention it has needed and deserved after so many years. With the changes and all, I feel we couldn't have better leadership now than with Hexus and Facingwest, 'west as we all know has been with us for many years and is a good friend to the guild. Hexus, after time abroad, exploring, has finally returned to us and brings much need vigor and foresight to the guild. I wish the both of them the best of luck, and pledge my service to them in whatever needs they may have of an old worn out ranger. To the future, dear friends and whatever trials and rewards it may bring! Gaia's blessings to you all, Kahlroo Silverfeather, Former Guildmaster of the Rangers What follows are the remnants of the old logbook: March 31, 2003 My fellow Woodfolk, The past year has brought much difficulty and much instability in the guild. Over this time, the Rangers and Druids became one guild. Finally, forging a solid brotherhood of all those who follow the ways of the wild. But, also during this period the leadership of the guild was instable and may or may not have hindered any furtherment or advancement of the guild from the powers on high. Keeping this in mind, Facingwest and I will attempt to guide the guild to greater and better things. It will take time as we settle in for the haul but we assure you that we will do everything in our power to further the guild. Thank you, Jahroo Silverfeather, Guildmaster of the Rangers September 7, 2001 Dear friends, As you may or may not know, the guild has undergone a series of changes that we hope will add some spice and interest in our guild. We have seen that over the past months many of our friends have left for other guilds and other realms far away from the forest. It is my hope that these changes will stir interest and create positive energy into the guild once more. Most important of the changes is an increase in our faith. After many meditations on the nature of our inner fire, the powers have spoken and increased our power by half what it was. We can only believe that this will make us better at fighting the enemies in the wood. Second, after much experimentation and practice, we have been able to strengthen and tune our ancient spell, claws of the beast. After many moons studying the great white wyrm in the icy wastes we were able to unlock the powers of it's innate energies and focus them into our hands. This, we pray, will allow a ranger who wishes to study the true nature of beasts and that ranger's own self-reliance, a fair chance at succeeding. For the future, we still await the arrival of our newer bows, as well as we hope to fix or adapt some of our invocations to be better or at the least more effective. As always, should you have any ideas or thoughts of what to improve or perhaps a new item you'd like to see let Facingwest or myself know. We are here to serve you, the guild, afterall. Thank you dear friends, Kahlroo Silverfeather, Guildmaster April 9, 2001 Dear friends, Over the course of the past year that Facingwest and myself have been honored to serve you, we've encountered many difficulties. Most of these difficulties have entailed downgrades or major changes in the way the guild operates. For example: Entangle (no longer does a massive skill drop), faith advancement affects levels, and finally call lightning and produce fire have been downed in power. As many of you know, I get angry and upset when these things occur. I don't get mad because it's harder for us to kill. I get mad because they'll do this but not touch things that we've been asking for for over a year to get done. Things that won't make us a more powerful guild, but rather, a more interesting/diverse guild. As it stands there are 2 items in QC that are being reviewed for us, I'll keep you informed as to the status of the QC. At this time I would like to address the question that I'd given the guild about a month or two ago. What is a ranger? I was very pleased that the guild, in general, felt fired up enough to provide me with a varied and informative "definition" of what you think a ranger is. The overall feeling that we get from the guild is as such: A ranger is good or evil. Just as the wolf cares for its pups or slays the weak. A ranger functions as a necessary force of nature. Like the torrential rains carve a new stream or the rotting corpse nourishes the ground. We are either here to help or hinder. It's how the OTHERS treat us and our place that determines our actions. This is a basic version of much of what was told to me about your opinions on the guild. Facingwest and myself think it is a good thing. These are not laws, they may be used as guidelines, but I hope most of all they will give you the old and you the new some insight into what makes us a worthwhile guild. They may take our strength, they may ignore our pleas, but they will never take our hearts and our souls. For that's what makes us rangers. Thank you dear friends, and until next time.....
